Eyebrow Tattoo Removal
Unhappy With Your Brows?
Having a tattoo is a significant decision. Regrettably, not all tattoos turn out as expected.
If you have tattoos on your arms or legs, you can easily conceal them with sleeves or pants. However, what if the unwanted tattoo is on your face?
In such cases, laser tattoo removal might be worth considering.
PicoWay Laser Tattoo Removal at OM Laser & Wellness is fast, safe, and effective for all body parts, including eyebrows.
Curious to know more about the process? Below is a detailed explanation of how eyebrow tattoo removal works.
There’s No Need to Hide
Laser tattoo removal allows for the removal of either an entire tattoo or a specific section of it.
If your inked area is not in the desired shape, you can target only the necessary sections to achieve the shape you desire without having to remove all of the tattoo. This is not as precise as getting a tattoo, but an area can be focused on for isolated results.
There are numerous motivations for eyebrow tattoo removal procedures.
Have you found yourself regretting a cosmetic tattoo that once seemed like a great idea?
Were you excited about microblading to enhance your thin eyebrows?
Did you believe that permanent makeup would simplify your grooming routine, only to find that the shape wasn't what you envisioned?
No matter the appearance or reason behind your tattoos, a series of removal sessions could help erase them completely.
Laser treatment can remove: permanent makeup, cosmetic tattoos, microblading, and more.
How Does Eyebrow Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
There’s some pretty cool science taking place:
The PicoWay Laser at OM Laser & Wellness emits incredibly short pulses (measured in trillionths of a second) of light energy into your tattoo. The collected ink in your skin absorbs the wavelengths of the laser and pulverizes into miniscule ink particles that your body can now easily remove.
With each treatment, the ink particles break down further and further until they are gone.
How Many Sessions To Remove Eyebrow Tattoos?
It typically takes between three to ten sessions to completely remove an eyebrow tattoo.
The number of treatments necessary is influenced by factors such as the tattoo's size, the color of the original ink, the amount of ink + depth and density, the type + quality of ink used by the tattoo artist, and also you skin type and tone. Underlying health and wellness factors such as hydration, exercise, immune system health / healing ability, smoking (and more) can also influence results.
Keep in mind that permanent makeup inks differ from traditional tattoo inks, and they often contain metals that can oxidize and change color when pulsed by the laser. These tattoos tend to be more resistant to removal and usually require more sessions.
Since most eyebrow tattoos are small, they usually only require one minute under the laser per treatment session. The removal process is much faster than getting the tattoo in the first place.
How Do I Prepare?
Before your first treatment, it is important to ensure that your treatment area is not tanned or sunburned (including self-tanners or spray tans). In the weeks leading up to your session (as well as afterwards - see below “What to Expect”), protect yourself from the sun by wearing sunscreen when outdoors. Stay properly hydrated before each treatment session (and if applicable consider quitting smoking to aid in the healing process). Avoid shaving, waxing, and exfoliating the treatment area in the days prior.
What to Expect
The tattoo removal procedure is fast and only mildly uncomfortable (most patients compare it to a rubber band being snapped on the skin). Prescription numbing cream is available upon request for an additional fee. We provide cooling before and after the procedure to increase comfort.
We provide you with everything needed for at least 3 days of aftercare, including detailed instructions and guidance.
Always apply a broad spectrum sunscreen of at least 50 SPF (that contains at least 20% zinc oxide), protecting against UVA/UVB rays over the area for the full time between sessions while removal is performed. Re-apply every 2-3 hours as needed. Remember that clothing and hats do not give complete protection from UV Radiation. Limiting sun exposure between treatments will reduce the amount of melanin production in the area, thereby reducing the risk of side effects.
There are certain side effects that may occur. Certain individuals may observe redness, swelling, (and in rare cases minor blistering) in the treated region. Occasionally, temporary lightening or darkening of the skin may occur. These side effects can be more noticeable particularly within the initial hours following the treatment, but they will diminish. The majority of individuals notice that their skin reverts back to its normal state fairly quickly.
